What are mouth guards?

Mouth guards are a type of protective equipment that are designed to safeguard the teeth and mouth from injury during physical activities, particularly sports.

They are typically made from a soft and pliable material that can be molded to the contours of the wearer's teeth and gums, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit.

By providing a cushioning effect, mouth guards can help to prevent oral injuries, including chipped or broken teeth, as well as damage to the lips, tongue, and jaw.

Our dentists make mouth guards by first taking an impression of patient's teeth. This impression is then used to create a mold of the teeth, which is used to make the mouth guard.

The mouth guard is typically made from a special type of plastic is both durable and comfortable to wear.

Once the mouth guard is complete, the dentist will ensure that it fits properly and provide instructions on how to care for it.
