The Dental Veneers Process

The Consultation and Exam

Your smile plan will give you an opportunity to dictate how you want your new smile to look. We’ll evaluate each tooth and determine which ones need veneers, then give you a written treatment plan to review.

(Optional) Wax Up

Some smile makeovers are so extensive that we need to fabricate a temporary mock-up of what your proposed veneers will look like. You can even try it on.

Prep Appointment

Your teeth are prepared for veneers to fit over them. They’ll be gently anesthetized and have a thin layer of enamel reduced from the outer surface (so that the veneer being added onto them won’t make your tooth look bulky). We’ll send impressions of your teeth to the dental lab, with directions on the shape and colour of how to make the restorations.

Placement of Your Dental Veneers

About two weeks later, your permanent veneers will be ready to try in and bond in place. Once everything is permanently cemented, you’ll go home with a brand-new smile!

Maintenance

Be sure to wear a nightguard while you sleep to avoid any unwanted chipping. Schedule a checkup every six months to make sure your veneers stay intact.
